Connect Groups at Hope Church Sevenoaks
From the time of the early church, Christians have gathered in homes to pray, worship and encourage each other. Hope Church, like many other churches around the world, also does this. We call these gatherings Connect Groups.

What are Connect Groups?
Connect Groups are an essential element of a healthy, growing church. In contrast to the larger Sunday morning meeting, they are places where a smaller number of people can meet regularly together, eat together, pray for each other, talk about life, and study the Bible. They also help us focus on Discipleship, Mission and Community, which are core priorities for Hope Church. Connect Groups help to make church more personal so that every person is known by name and can more easily develop friendship. They meet during the week and different groups choose which evenings and times are best for them.
Biblical Precedent
Acts 2:42 - The early church met in smaller groups:
- People met in homes, shared meals together and prayed
- They devoted themselves to the teachings of the apostles
- They had fellowship
- They broke bread together
- There were many wonders and there were no unmet needs
Connect Groups Aims
- Help people develop authentic friendships
- Provide easy access to a mid-week Christian community
- Create a safe place where you can be yourself
- Develop disciples for Jesus
- Share a meal together and pray for each other
- Discuss the weekly sermon and consider how to apply it in our lives
- Focus on caring for each other and our communities
- To be fruitful and multiply, so reaching and influencing the world for Jesus
- Promote unity within the church
About
Hope Church is a friendly, modern church with traditional Christian beliefs. Worship times are lively and led by a music group on stage, and the preaching is bible-based. We are a member of the Evangelical Alliance and part of the New Ground family of churches, which is part of Newfrontiers.
